Based in New South Wales, CVD Commercial Glass specialises in high-end residential glazing and aluminium fabrication, delivering premium, locally made solutions across the region.

With a growing workload and increasing demand for its high-end residential work, CVD has continued to invest in its production capabilities to increase capacity, improve accuracy and maintain the quality its customers expect.

Working closely with Alumach Sales Manager Davide Giaccotto, owner Chris Van Dijk identified the machinery required to support the next stage of CVD’s growth.

Building CNC Capability

In January 2025, CVD invested in an Emmegi Phantomatic M3 3+1 axis CNC, moving from a manual copy router to CNC machining.

The investment delivered an immediate improvement in machining efficiency and accuracy, reducing machining time by 30% and providing the additional production capacity needed to keep pace with its growing workload.

The M3 also gives CVD greater control over its machining process, while its software can be installed across multiple office computers, allowing jobs to be prepared and managed away from the machine.

Alumach completed the installation and provided comprehensive training, ensuring the CVD team was confident operating the new CNC from day one.

Expanding Production Capability

After successfully integrating the Phantomatic M3 into its production process, CVD continued its investment with an Emmegi Precision T2 EHS 6m double mitre saw in February 2026.

The fully automatic saw provides fast, accurate cutting at any angle and can also operate as a feed-and-cut machine.

For CVD, the T2 EHS has further increased production capacity, reducing overall cutting time by 35% while maintaining the accuracy and finish required for high-end residential projects.

“This has allowed CVD to cut down our saw time by 35% and help free up time for our operator to do other tasks around the factory also.”

A Connected Production Process

The Phantomatic M3 and Precision T2 EHS can also form part of an integrated Forterro LogiKal workflow.

Cutting lists can be transferred to the T2 EHS, which processes the required cuts and prints a barcode label for each profile. The labelled components can then be scanned at the Phantomatic M3, which identifies each piece and automatically applies the correct machining operations.

This creates a connected workflow from cutting through to machining, reducing manual data entry and helping ensure each component is processed accurately.

The Result

The combination of the Emmegi Phantomatic M3 and Precision T2 EHS has given CVD Commercial Glass the production capability to support its continued growth.

From automated cutting and barcode identification through to CNC machining, the two machines work together to create a streamlined production process while maintaining the accuracy and quality expected from CVD’s high-end residential work.

“Highly recommend the investment. Yes, the initial costs seem scary and large, but it’s the best investment we at CVD have made. Accuracy, speed and ability to have the operator multitask pay dividends back to the business.”

For CVD, the investment represents a continued commitment to quality, efficiency and building the production capability to take on more work as the business grows.

Ongoing Support from Alumach

The relationship extends well beyond installation. Alumach provides CVD with ongoing remote support, phone assistance and experienced onsite technicians, backed by access to parts and consumables.

With the right machinery and ongoing technical support in place, CVD is well equipped to continue growing its production capabilities and delivering high-quality results to its customers.
